The new year is upon us.

This week, we look back at all the tips we shared in 2016 and selected some of SCORE’s favorites. If you visit www.tucson.com and search for β€œBiz tip of the week”, you will find more information on each of these topics:

1. Achieving your goals is important. You have to know what you really want and what you are willing to do to get it. Also, be humble enough to know you can learn from others and be coachable.

2. Learn to explain to your clients why you do what you do, rather that just what you do. This will set you apart from the competition and attract clients who share your passion.

3. Your time is your most important resource. Be guarded with it, and demand a return on the time you invest in your business.

4. Referrals are a great way to generate business. Businesses who receive referrals enjoy lower acquisition costs, higher conversion rates, better margins and exponential organic growth.

5. Spend time identifying the right niche markets for you and your business. Look for opportunities your competition has missed, and own those niche markets!

6. Your website can generate business while you sleep. To be effective, your website must be found on page one of the major search engines. It should deliver the information visitors need and have an effective call to action.

7. Stay connected to, and friendly toward, your competition. These relationships can create incredible opportunities, business and profits for you.

8. Join a professional group to get more referrals and opportunities, but join the right group for your business. Leveraging the collective resources of a group can be very powerful to grow your business.

There are many other articles not mentioned here. Look at all of them and select your favorites. Distribute them to your team and use them to stimulate discussions at sales meetings.
