Call-center operator C3/CustomerContactChannels is looking to hire more than 1,100 workers in Tucson, nearly doubling its local workforce.
C3 — the fastest growing employer in Southern Arizona last year — says it plans to hire nearly 4,000 people companywide to meet the demands of new clients and new assignments from existing clients, including health care providers ramping up for fall insurance enrollments.
In Tucson, the company plans to add 1,132 jobs. C3 operates a call center at 1150 W. Drexel Road and another one in Foothills Mall at 7325 N. La Cholla Blvd.
Job-seekers can fill out an application at jobs.c3connect.com.
The new jobs pay $9.50 to $10.50 an hour plus performance incentives on some programs. C3 offers health care and 401(k) retirement plans and other benefits.
In 2015, the median hourly wage for customer-service representatives was $12.35, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
As part of its incentive program, C3 said it is raffling off a new car, a 2016 Nissan Versa, to one worker at each of its U.S. locations who hits certain performance milestones.
C3 already doubled its Tucson workforce to nearly 1,400 workers in 2015, making it the region’s fastest-growing employer last year. It ranked 36th in the 2016 Star 200 survey of the region’s biggest employers, reporting 1,388 full-time equivalent employees at start of 2016.
Besides Tucson, C3 operates contact centers in Idaho, Nevada, Oklahoma, Texas and Utah, as well as internationally in the Philippines, Bulgaria and Guatemala.
The company said it is enjoying strong growth from across all business sectors, especially the health-insurance industry, “which will drive millions of calls from current and prospective customers seeking vital information regarding available plans.”
