Brandon Willis, of Willis Metal Crafts, is shown Monday in his new shop, 3214 E. 46th St., with a World War II-era boring mill behind him. The 27-year-old entrepreneur is expanding his welding business with the purchase of the warehouse.

A rising entrepreneur has bought an industrial building to expand his fabrication company on Tucson’s south side.

Brandon Willis, owner of Willis Metal Crafts, bought the former Scott Supply Services facility at 3214 E. 46th St. for $200,000.

The company does subcontracting work for public art and manufactures jewelry tools, among other machine- shop jobs, Willis said.

His business has grown to three employees since he started it nearly two years ago in his garage when he was 25.

Tom Hunt, of Tango Commercial Real Estate, represented Willis in the purchase.

“It’s always fun to meet and work with young entrepreneurs like Brandon,” said Hunt, who showed Willis 30 spaces before he picked one he liked. “He has a fire in his belly and isn’t afraid to work hard.”

The majority of Willis’ work is for local customers, but the company also does work for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and others.

“We do anything from aerospace, to government, to public art, to jewelry tools, to automotive components,” Willis said. “If anything is made out of metal, we can make it.”
