Name: Chuck Cecil 

Years at UA: 1984-87

Accomplishments: In 1987, Cecil was a co-captain of the team, a consensus first-team All-American and the Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year. He was also a three-time Academic All-American (1985, 1986, 1987). He was a two-time first-team All-Pac-10 selection (1986, 1987). 

He was inducted into the Arizona Sports Hall of Fame in 1993 and the National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame in 2009. He was selected as a co-MVP of the 1986 Aloha Bowl. 

Cecil ranks in the top 10 in UA history in the following categories: 

• Career interceptions: 1st, 21 interceptions 

• Career passes broken up: 2nd, 38 passes broken up 

• Career total tackles: 7th, 392 total tackles 

• Career solo tackles: 8th, 222 solo tackles 

• Career assisted tackles: 9th, 170 assisted tackles 

• Single-season interceptions: 2nd, nine interceptions (1987)

• Single-game interceptions: 1st, four interceptions (at Stanford in 1987)

Cecil also led Arizona in the following categories in 1987: 

• Total tackles: 136

• Unassisted tackles: 80
