Woops BakeShop on University Boulevard is giving away free macarons to the first 200 customers on Tuesday, March 20, in honor of National Macaron Day.
So here's the thing: Don't feel compelled to get up while it's still dark and drag yourself down to the bakery near the UA Main Gate in your PJs so you can be the first in line when they open at 7 a.m.
Truthfully, you would probably be safe just slipping in around lunchtime, an employee reassured us.
Woops, a sweet spot along the bustling Maingate entertainment/retail sector at 845 E. University Blvd., will offer special discounts and deals on gift boxes. It will donate 5 percent of sales from those deals to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
Tuesday's freebies — one per person — are good until Woops gives away its 200th macaron. They are open until 9 p.m.
