Gem Show opens at TCC

Tucsonโ€™s largest, oldest and most prestigious gem and mineral show โ€” the one that set everything in motion โ€” starts today, Thursday, Feb. 8, and runs through Sunday, Feb. 11 at the Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave. Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The Tucson Gem and Mineral Societyโ€™s show has enjoyed international stature since the 1970s and was the first gem and mineral show to bring the hobby enthusiast, the public and the curator/professionals together for discovery and discussion. This yearโ€™s theme is โ€œCrystals and Crystal Forms.โ€

Find tickets at TCC ticket outlets or call 791-4101, then press 1.

Admission is $13 (which includes $1 facility tax); Children ages 14 and under are free with a paying adult. Friday, Feb. 9, is Military Day (active and retired) and Senior Citizens Day (62 and older); receive $2 off the regularly priced ticket (cannot be used with any other discount). Two-day tickets will be available for a cost of $22 (which cannot be used with any other discount).
