Arizona Daily Star editorial cartoonist David Fitzsimmons is producing a benefit comedy show at Laffs Comedy Caffe on Wednesday, Oct. 11, that features an all-female cast and one man: Dave β€œGuestosterone” Fitzsimmons.

Hey, shouldn’t the guy doing the heavy lifting be allowed 15 minutes of fame? Exactly!

He’ll join a cast headed by veteran Tucson standup Nancy Stanley, who’s hosting β€œTitters: The Estrogen Hour’s Finest Hour in Support of Making Strides against Breast Cancer.” Proceeds benefit efforts to raise awareness about and money to treat breast cancer, which Fitzsimmons said β€œtook my mighty mom and my sweet sis.”

Also on the lineup is Boston transplant Amber Frame; Mo Urban, who has hosted comedy and improv shows around Tucson; comedian and breast cancer survivor Stacy Scheff; Tucson comedian, muralist and chalk artist Bridgitte Thum; comedian and improv artist Esther Brilliant; and headliner Traci Skene from Las Vegas, who has appeared on “Last Comic Standing” and penned “Sometimes Ask A Man,” which she will no doubt shamelessly promote. (Available on Amazon.com and for free on Kindle.)

Skene is sticking around Tucson for a few days to appear as the featured comic when her husband Brian McKim, a “Last Comic Standing” semi-finalist who has performed in all 50 states, headlines Laffs on Oct. 13 and 14. Details at laffstucson.com.

Wednesday’s 21-and-old show starts at 7 p.m., doors open at 6. Tickets are $15 in advance by emailing tooner@tucson.com or $20 at the door, 2900 E. Broadway.
