Cat Power in Tucson

Tucson will be Cat Power’s one and only Arizona stop on the singer/songwriter’s latest trek up the West Coast.

The Atlanta-born musician is still promoting her 2012 release β€œSun” on her website and social media accounts, but has mentioned in YouTube videos ο»Ώthat another album is in the works.

Expect to hear some of the new stuff and classics going back to her β€œDear Sir” days when Cat Power takes the stage Friday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $27- $43 through the Rialto box office, 318 E. Congress St., 740-1000.

King Tuff at 191 Toole

191 Toole keeps the buzz bands coming with King Tuff performing at the venue Saturday. Otherwise known as Kyle Thomas, Tuff is touring under his third full-length album, β€œBlack Moon Spell,” which came out Tuesday on Sub-Pop Records.

He will be joined by Prom Body and Cherry Glazerr. The all-ages show starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12-$14 through ticketfly.com online.

How big has Tucson songwriter Brian Lopez gotten in recent years?

Big enough for Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St., to celebrate the release of his new album, β€œStatic Noise,” with not one, but two gigs this weekend.

On Friday, Lopezο»Ώ will hold an all-out celebration of the album, with performances from his full band and guest artist Dylan Pratt in the club. That show begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10-$12.

On Saturday, he will perform an evening of acoustic tunes with a selection of local favorites in Copper Hall at the hotel starting at 7 p.m. The cost for that show is $10-$12. Visit hotelcongress.com for more information.
