The iconic Irish traditional band The Chieftains are no strangers to Tucson, but they are to the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
On Tuesday, Feb. 23, they will introduce themselves to the orchestra in a special concert at Tucson Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave. Call it a really, really early St. Patrick's Day party, that begins with a drink.
Before Tuesday's 8 p.m. concert, Hamilton Distillers will host "Cheers to The Chieftains," a whiskey reception that pairs its Whiskey del Bac with cheeses from Blu, A Wine and Cheese Shop. It gets started at 6 p.m. at Hamilton's Distillery, 2106 Forbes Blvd., off West Grant Road near Interstate 10.
Tickets to Cheers to The Chieftains are $89, which also includes a ticket to the concert.
The Chieftains, six-time Grammy nominees, is celebrating its 54th year of bringing traditional Irish music to the world, including several concerts in Tucson in recent years. This is the first time the group will perform with the TSO.
Tickets to the concert only are $45 to $90 through ticketmaster.com
