Tucson-born magician Eric Buss — aka Bubble Wrap Boy — will make his annual pilgrimage home to remind us just how funny he can be.
Buss will host his second “Shenanigans” comic magic show on Saturday. This year, he’s bringing along some new friends — Dave Cox & Stephanie, Michael Rayner and DJ G. Sharp — for what promises to be an evening of, well, shenanigans. Expect magical feats of illusion, mystical moments of drama and downright craziness of the hocus-pocus variety.
Buss, a 20-year veteran comic magician, first introduced us to “Shenanigans” in late 2013, on the eve of his career getting a major boost from a near-viral video he posted on YouTube of his “Bubble Wrap Bike” shtick — he rides a bike attached to a monster roll of bubble wrap, popping the wrap as he goes along. The routine earned him the respect and admiration of the bubble wrap universe; in January ’14, he became the first — and only — inductee into the official Bubble Wrap Appreciation Day Hall of Fame. Last summer, he won the inaugural season of Syfy’s “Wizard Wars” — think magic’s answer to “Iron Chef.”
Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. Saturday show at The Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Ave., are $12 for kids, $17 for adults at ericbuss.com/shenanigans
