Local sandwich chain Eegee's blew up the Twitterverse yesterday when it announced its new frozen drink flavor was Flamin' Hot Cheetos.
In response to the April Fools' Day prank, over 1,000 hungry Tucsonans tried to order the drink at various stores, says Eegee's Marketing Director Robert Santiago.
But they didn't go home empty-handed ... Customers who requested the drink were instead given a free Eegee's flavor of their choice and a small bag of Cheetos.
After a Twitter dare, Star features writer Cathalena Burch decided to try it out. Here are her words, via Facebook: "... The kid at the Cortaro Rd. Store looked at me like I was crazy. Then he gave me a kids fom -- blueberry lemon -- and a bag of Cheetos. Ask and you will receive!"
Today, Eegee's announced that their flavor of the month is actually Blueberry Lemon. Phew!
