Welcome to Caliente’s Happy Hour Madness, which pits 32 restaurants/bars with happy hours that you picked as the best in the Old Pueblo.

Over the next four weeks, you get to decide whose happy hour warrants a trip to the Championship round April 9-12. We’ll crown a winner in the April 16 edition of Caliente.

The competition is stiff. Round 1 has sports bar Risky Business going up against Oro Valley’s Harvest Restaurant, which claimed the top prize in the February 2014 most romantic dining spot madness bracket. Upscale Foothills destination Five Palms Steak & Seafood Restaurant faces Casa Molina in Round 1, while the popular Trident Grill goes up against gastropub Union Public House.

There’s also some quirky matchups including Lodge on the Desert facing Sushi Garden; and the popular university-area dive bar The Buffet matching happy hour wits with the shirt-and-tie crowd at Sullivan’s Steakhouse. It will be exciting to see how they play out.

The nominees are going to be lobbying hard and often for your vote, and trust us, every vote counts. We’ve had some pretty tight Madness competition in the past: Who can forget the Burger Madness competition when a trio of perceived powerhouses fell in the first two rounds, mostly, the owners admitted afterward, because they didn’t push hard enough on social media.

Yep, expect to be bombarded with tweets, Facebook reminders and good old-fashioned begging at the tableside as they serve you your discounted nachos and $2 pint of draft.

Now it’s up to you to vote for your favorite happy hour on your mobile device at tucson.com/mobilemadness
