PY Steakhouse at Casino del Sol Resort must be doing something right when it comes to its wine list.
For the fourth consecutive time, the restaurant has won an Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator's Restaurant Wine List Awards. That's pretty impressive when you consider PY Steakhouse is only four years old; it's won the honor every year since it opened in 2011.
The four-star fine dining restaurant is inside the four-diamond-rated Casino del Sol Resort, 5655 W. Valencia Road. Its wine list, according to a press release from the casino, is comprised of more than 1,000 hand-selected domestic and international bottles representing 400-plus varietals. The wine cellar is curated by sommelier Kevin Brady, manager and sommelier for Casino Del Sol Resort,
“The wine list at PY Steakhouse is second to none,” David Alvarez, Casino del Sol Resort's VP of food and beverage, said in a written statement. “The quality of our wine program continues to impress year after year, and that is evident by our collection of Wine Spectator awards, as well as the number of satisfied guests we serve. We aim to provide a truly unique dining experience for our guests, through our wine list.”
Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence recognizes restaurant wine lists that offer interesting and diverse wines that are thematically matched with the restaurant’s cuisine in terms of price and style.
The 2015 list spans all 50 U.S. states and restaurants in more than 75 additional countries and territories.
PY Steakhouse is open from 4 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays through Thursdays and from 4 to 11 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
Other Tucson restaurants that made the Wine Spectator 2015 list are The Lodge at Ventana Canyon, Maynard's Market & Kitchen, Sullivan's Steakhouse, Signature Grill and Primo at JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort, and Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine.
