Brothers Aric and Josh Mussman opened their newest restaurant last weekend.
Noble Hops Gastropub at 1335 W. Lambert Lane in Oro Valley joins the brothers' two Vero Amore Italian restaurants.
Noble Hops is their interpretation of the gastropub concept found in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles or other major metropolitan areas.
"The concept originated in those big cities because people got sick of going to bars and eating crappy food from a fryer," Aric said. "The trend started in Europe. People got together and said ‘Let's make some better-quality stuff.' "
Angel Fabian, formerly of Miguel's at La Posada and RAZ, helms the kitchen, where they serve an extensive menu that includes Bavarian pretzels ($7) straight from Bavaria and porcini-dusted garlic gnocchi, served in a Gorgonzola cream sauce ($9). They also serve 108 beers - 80 bottled and 28 on tap.
Noble Hops is open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sundays-Thursdays and 11 a.m. to midnight Fridays-Saturdays. Call 797-4677 for more info.
