Hours before he was to open for headliner Luke BryanΒ at Country Thunder on Sunday, Dustin Lynch jumped on a golf cart with a camera crew and a couple band members and headed out to the Crazy Coyote campgrounds to hang out with the fans.

Bouncing along on a rutted dirt trail, pulled over wherever he saw a crowd gathered. On the first stop he was swallowed up in a crowd of fans and sucked into a drinking game β€” chug a beer then flip the red Solo cup over until it lands lip-side down. No one knew him on the second so he jumped back in the cart and barreled to the far reaches of the campgrounds where a group had set up a sea-saw made from empty beer kegs. The singer ("Where It's At," "Cowboys and Angels") jumped on for a ride then took dozens of photos with fans many clad in bikinis and short shorts. A majority of the men he encountered were shirtless.

"Selfishly," it's my favorite part of the festival, getting out to meet these people who let us live the dream," Lynch said afterward. "The (festival) show is great but it's more about the what happens before and after the show."

Lynch opens for Sunday night's headliner Bryan. The concert was officially declared a sell-out earlier Sunday.
