Picture this: You’re surrounded by kegs and kegs of craft beer, some of it produced in our own backyard.

Sounds like the 29th annual Great Tucson Beer Festival, which runs from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, at the Kino North Soccer Stadium, 2817 E. Ajo Way, across from Kino Stadium.

This extensive collection of beers — 300 in all — includes Arizona beers from Old Bisbee Brewing Company, Four Peaks Brewing Company of Tempe, and Tucson’s Nimbus Brewing and Barrio Brewing.

The cost is $45 general admission, $90 VIP in advance through Friday, Oct. 16, through azbeer.com; it’s $10 more at the gate. The beer festival is a critical fundraiser for the Tucson affiliate of Sun Sounds of Arizona, which turned 30 in February. Sun Sounds is a radio reading and audio information access service.
