Until a few years ago this delicacy of the Southwest, the Indian taco, seemed a little hard to come by. But oh how lucky we are now! To drive down St.  Mary's Road, pop into the little shop on the corner and within five minutes, receive an ethereal platter of pillowy fried dough smothered in a blanket of beef and beans. Just a squirt of spicy red salsa on top for some contrast, and you've got a dish that's absolutely divine.

Manna from Heaven, the place is called. And they obviously know what they're talking about. Co-owner Tracy Garcia learned to bake fry bread from her grandmother when she was 8 years old. And now she's carrying on the Pima recipe to her own children who help her work the little restaurant. So let's just take a minute to be thankful. For the present, and everything we have in front of us ...

Insider's tip: The Indian taco with ground beef usually costs $6.50, but if you go on Wednesday they'll sell you the whole thing for $5.50 and throw in a soda!
