Pin-Up is the lone sweet truck left in the competition, as readers demonstrated distinctly eclectic taste.
Hot dogs, pizza and burgers rated high enough to stay in the running, with You Sly Dog beating out Bruce Dogs, BurgerRito overcoming Bam Bam Mexican Asian Fusion, and Hellfire Pizza Co. besting Planet of the Crepes.
Giving an international flair to the next round are Cool Cajun Cafรฉ, which barely slipped past Just Churros; DC Jumbie Latin Caribbean overcoming Solid Grindz; and The Twisted Tandoor leaving Bellaโs Gelato Shoppe behind. And readers did not neglect ribs: Guero Locoโs Bubba-Que flew right past Veg in a Box to make the next round.
The remaining eight food trucks will be winnowed down to four by next week. Voting begins Thursday at Tucson.com/mobilemadness.
