Sand-Reckoner is pouring its new sparkling rosÊ by the glass to celebrate the release of its small-batch PÊt-Nat on Saturday.

You know it's a party when your favorite winery tosses out the small sippin'-sized tasting glasses and brings out the big-boy wine glasses.

That's what Sand-Reckoner is doing from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 3, at its downtown Tucson tasting room.

At Sand-Reckoner's PÊt-Nat Party they will pour their small batch sangiovese PÊt-Nat — a rosÊ sparkling wine crafted according to the ancient tradition — by the glass.

You Sly Dog food truck will join Saturday's party at the Sand-Reckoner Warehouse Arts District tasting room, 510 N. Seventh Ave., at 4 p.m.

Rob and Sarah Hammelman have been harvesting grapes and making wine from their 12-acre Willcox Bench vineyards sitting atop a bed of limestone on a sandy loam at 4,300 feet in elevation. It's ideal wine-growing terroir for the couple's 10 mostly reds vintages.

The Hammelmans opened the Tucson tasting room — the vineyard's first — in the downtown historic Warehouse Arts District in February.

Saturday's party is expected to run until 9 p.m.
