Are you ready for some football — and spareribs?

You’ll find them both at Zona 78 Sunday morning.

The eastside eatery — 7301 E. Tanque Verde Road — is opening up its bar at 10 a.m., an hour earlier than usual, so football fans can catch the NFL games, said manager Paul Leathers. Zona has done it since the season started.

“It’s a lot of good food, a lot of fun,” said Leathers, who comes in wicked early to cook the St. Louis-style ribs. “We’ve never really done this before.”

When daylight savings time ends (Nov. 6 for those of you paying attention), Zona will return to its regular 11 a.m. opening time.

The NFL menu features rotating dishes. Making appearances have been everything from a breakfast wrap and pizza with eggs, sausage and bacon to a BELT — that would be a BLT with the addition of egg, Leathers said.

“We’re just going to keep changing it up,” he said.

Oh, and of course, there are mimosas.

Everyone needs a morning mimosa,” Leathers added.
