Tap and Bottle, 403 N. Sixth Ave., has played a central role in the inception of Flux Brewing Co., where founders Michael Figueira and Andrew Schlicker met as coworkers at the taproom. "He was tending the bottle shop, and I was and still am a bartender," said Figueira.
Now the brewers have set their sights on establishing a brick-and-mortar location, and Tap and Bottle is pitching in by hosting the launch party for their Kickstarter campaign.
"Our ultimate goal is about $60,000. We're starting small, with a first goal of about $20,000," says Figueira. "We’re hoping that all these collaboration brews we’ve been doing will get people excited about our brewery.”
On tap for the party will be five such brews; "Saison de L'amitie" with Public Brewhouse, "Oraibi" ale with 1912 Brewing, a Kentucky sour brew called "Kentucky Sunglasses" with Borderlands, "Brett Savage" American-style ale with Iron John's and an American IPA, yet to be named, with Public Brewhouse. The event kicks off at 5 p.m. April 7.
