Dickey’s Barbecue Pit will open its second Tucson location, this one in the Target shopping plaza on the corner of Ina and Thornydale roads in Marana.
The restaurant, 7077 N. Thornydale Road, opens at 11 a.m. Thursday in space next door to Five Guys Burger & Fries.
Owners Darryl and Laura Weaver will kick off a three-day grand-opening weekend Thursday by giving gift cards to the first 50 customers. On Friday, the restaurant will have free giveaways throughout the day. Tucson radio station KLPX 96.1 FM will be on site from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Dickeys’ will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
This is the second Dickey’s location to open since May 2014, when the Dallas-based chain re-entered the Tucson market. Dickey’s had a short run in Tucson when had a restaurant on North First Avenue from 2009 to 2010.
