A blueberry pie from last year's Pie Party at the YWCA of Southern Arizona.

Get ready for a plethora of pies this Sunday afternoon at the YWCA's 13th Annual Pie Party. The community potluck will feature baked goods of all flavors and sizes: apple, merengue, turtle pie, coconut cream and roasted garlic sweet potato, if last year was any indication.

The event goes from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. May 1 at the YWCA Frances McClelland Community Center, 525 North Bonita Ave. Admission is free, but pie slices cost $3 apiece or $5 for two. The event is sponsored by The Food Conspiracy Co-op and the YWCA of Southern Arizona.

This year, organizers are also bringing in the folks from Arizona Public Media’s Dímelo: Stories of the Southwest. Correspondents will be speaking to partygoers about their culinary identities, so find one and share your story!

It's also not too late to donate a pie for the contest, which is broken up into four categories: fruit, cream, vegan and other. Just drop your pie off at the YWCA from 11 a.m. to noon on the day of the party. The proceeds from the event go to two nonprofit winners chosen from these options: Camp Born This Way, Community Home Repair Projects of Arizona, Local First Arizona Foundation, Make Way for Books, and Tucson Roller Derby.

For more info, head to the Pie Party's Facebook page, Food Conspiracy Co-op's website or call 520-624-4821.
