Tucson singer-songwriter Bob Einweck brings traditional folk, blues and country to his new album "Monsoons."

Tucson musician Bob Einweck likes to point out that he's songwriter at heart, and that becomes immediately evident one listen in to his just released album "Monsoons."

The itinerant performer crafts wonderful stories of wandering and wandering hearts, the silence that comes with "A Full-Grown Mind," the loneliness and insecurity of abuse that stretches a "Sunshine Mile" and the confessions a man

caught in the middle of two loves.

"Monsoons" is a travelogue of Einweck's decades of touring, introducing us to the characters he's met along the way and the person he discovered in himself. Stories are told through Southern blues and soul, unapologetic pop folk and country, and shades of bluegrass. Put it all together and it makes perfect musical sense and harmony.

Among the album's 14 cuts is the cool a capella gem "Take A High Road" and the delicious blues ode "Sing Like Somebody Else," which will remind you of the energy of a young B.B. King.

Einweck's "Monsoons" is available at Amazon. You can hear him perform live cuts, as well as songs from his four earlier albums, when he plays Frog & Firkin, 874 E. University Blvd., from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 9; he's been a near monthly regular at the University of Arizona-area pub since the early 2000s.

You can also catch him from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 26 in the Royal Sun Lounge at the Best Western Royal Sun Inn & Suites, 1015 N. Stone Ave.
