For two weekends in April, guest choreographer Darrell Grand Moultrie will bring a Spring Collection to the Stevie Eller Dance Theater at the University of Arizona. It features eight works with “Boiling Point” as the centerpiece.
Moultrie, a choreographer and teacher, has created and staged many professional companies. Most recently, Beyoncé selected Moultrie as one of her choreographers for her current Mrs. Carter World Tour.
A new creation by Autumn Eckman opens the collection with “A Lot Like Love.” Also included: “Sardine” by Eckman; “The Man Behind Duke,” choreographed by Sam Watson; “An Inch for Beverly” by Beverly Blossom, restaged by Douglas Nielsen; “Believe” by Amy Ernst; “Sticks & Stones” by Michael Williams; “If You Don’t Like Me Today, Come Back Tomorrow,” choreographed by Tamara Dyke-Compton; and Moultrie’s “Boiling Point.”
