Calexico is playing a show at the intimate Rialto Theatre offshoot 191 Toole and itâs no surprise that the show on Tuesday, Dec. 19, is completely sold out.
Unless youâre willing to pay.
One online reseller has tickets for $117 apiece; that’s nearly three times the day-of ticket price of $31 advertised before a bold “SOLD OUT” sticker was slapped on the listing at rialtotheatre.com.
Fans of the Tucson desert rock band, which has a reputation well beyond the Arizona state line, know better than to wait until the last minute. Calexico doesnât perform at home very often, so getting a chance to see them in between their national/international travels is a treasured and rare occurrence.
Joey Burns and John Convertino are celebrating a little holiday cheer at the 191 Toole show; if you have a ticket, theyâd love to see you wearing your ugliest sweater as they sing holiday favorites, a few of their hits and possibly their new single, âVoices in the Field,â off their soon-to-be released album âThe Thread That Keeps Us.â Itâs due to drop Jan. 26.
Tuesdayâs show is the bandâs last for 2017. They will hit the road again in March, spending most of the month in Europe before they return for a concert in El Paso in mid-April.
