Wanna know where the live entertainment action is going to be this weekend?
Head downtown.
Between the Fox Tucson Theater, the Rialto and the Rialto’s sister venue 191 Toole, the area along and around Congress Street will be hopping.
The legendary singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright is the top draw at the Fox, 17 W. Congress St. He brings his “Oh Solo Wainwright” tour to Tucson on Sunday, Oct. 13. Texas piano man Robert Ellis opens the show at 7 p.m. Tickets are $28 to $68 through foxtucson.com
The Rialto Theatre and 191 Toole are booked solid through early next week. Beginning Friday, Oct. 11, through Tuesday, Oct. 15, there is a concert every night at both venues. It’s almost as if the Rialto, which books acts into both venues, is making up for the slow summer weeks when it saw two or three shows a week between the two.
Concerts are held at the Rialto, 318 E. Congress St., and 191 Toole, 191 E. Toole Ave. For tickets and details, visit rialtotheatre.com
