Attendance at the 2016 Country Thunder festival in Florence in early April broke earlier records.

Average attendance was 29,000 โ€” unofficially that means every day of the four-day festival April 7-10 sold out. Last year's average daily attendance was about 28,000.

That's a lot of bodies filling the sprawling Country Thunder West festival grounds, thousands of whom were camped out over the long weekend in pop tents, fifth-wheels, toy haulers, horse trailers and luxury RVs scattered among the half-dozen or so campgrounds.

Here's the 2016 festival by the numbers:

โ€ข 29,000 โ€” people on average attended each day.

โ€ข 22 โ€” artists were on the main stage lineup.ย

โ€ข 6-9 โ€” the days next April when Country Thunder 2017 will take over Florence: April 6 to 9, 2017. Expect to hear about ticket prices, campsite reservations and more in coming weeks; clickย hereย for updates.

โ€ข 2 โ€” days that it rained, including a muddy downpour on closing day April 10. (Luckily the rain cleared by the time headliner Eric Church hit the stage.)

โ€ข 1 โ€” artist's show was cancelled because of rain. Nashville newcomer Courtney Cole was bumped from the lineup April 10 to keep the shows on schedule after an early afternoon downpour that left the festival grounds a slippery, muddy mess.
