After spending time in the canyon, stop by the visitors center, which has an interpretative center explaining the history, geography, flora and wildlife of the canyon. There also is a gift shop with books, T-shirts and free info about Sabino Canyon and Mount Lemmon. (Our favorite T-shirt says "May the forest be with you." The Sabino Canyon main road ascends from 2,800 to 3,300 feet and crosses Sabino Creek over 9 stone bridges. It is a favorite route for hikers and bicyclists, and casual picnickers, too.

The narrated 45-minute, 3.8 mile tram tour has nine stops with several restroom facilities and picnic grounds near Sabino Creek. The tram turns around at stop No. 9 and heads back down to the Visitorβs Center, at which point riders may remain on board and hike back down. Trams arrive about every 30 minutes.

Sabino Canyon shuttle routes go into to Sabino and Bear canyons. There are nine stops on the Sabino Cayone route. Riders are able to get on and off at any of the stops, picnic, hike, splash and reboard the shuttle. Hours through mid-December are Β 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. weekends. Cost is $10 Β adults, $5 Β children 3-12. Children 2 and under are free.
