The Corbett House

Time’s running out:

Sunday, July 9, is your last chance to visit the galleries at the Tucson Museum of Art.

Don’t panic: The galleries are being renovated and expanded and will reopen with a big shindig in October.

And TMA will continue to entice visitors over the summer: the historic buildings will remain open — and free; Cinema La Placita takes over the museum plaza every Thursday (7:30 p.m. shows are $3 — that includes popcorn), and Free First Thursdays continue.

Last November, TMA launched a fundraising campaign. Thus far, $1.3 million has been raised. One of the things the renovation of the main galleries will do is increase the exhibition space — and that means we’ll get to see more of TMA’s impressive permanent collection.
