Celebrations for the Chinese New Year continue this weekend at the Chinese Cultural Center.

The center’s annual fest is generally packed with good food, colorful entertainment, and some solid lessons on Chinese culture.

The New Year Festival is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at the center, 1288 W. River Road. You’ll find Chinese arts and crafts, games, performances and food and all for a can’t-believe-it price of $2 for adults, $1 for kids 6-12, and free for children 5 and younger.

From 6-8 p.m. Feb. 13, bestselling author Lisa See will sign copies of her latest book, “China Dolls,” and talk about her Chinese-American family at a reception at the center. The cost is $15.

Then, 5-9 p.m. Feb. 14, there will be a Year of the Sheep dinner at the JW Marriott Tucson Starr Pass Resort & Spa, 3800 W. Starr Pass Blvd.

The evening includes dinner, entertainment, a silent auction and casino games, all benefiting the Tucson Chinese Cultural Center. Tickets to that are $150 a person. More information at tucsonchinese.org or 292-6900.
