Likely because Utah lost Poeltl along with seniors Jordan Loveridge and Brandon Taylor, Utah was picked to finish only eighth in the Pac-12 after a second-place finish last season.
That didnβt sit well with Utah guard Lorenzo Bonam, who told the Salt Lake Tribune that he doesnβt view highly regarded transfer guard Sedrick Barefield as a competitor for playing time as much as another talent who can make the Utes better.
"We work with each other to become better and show (the) Pac-12 that we're no 8th-place team," he told the Tribune, referring to Thursdayβs game. "We're gonna give them what we got."Β
