Former Arizona Wildcat Terry Francona was named to the College World Series Legends Team, which honors players who had the best CWS performances throughout the 60 years the event has been played at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Neb. Francona and his 27 Legends teammates will be invited to Omaha this June as the CWS opens its final year at Rosenblatt. The Series moves to a new stadium in Omaha next year.

Other former Arizona players to be nominated for consideration were Alan Hall (1958-60), Craig Lefferts (1979-80), Charles Shoemaker (1959-60) and Steve Powers (1976).

Arizona State contributes four players to the Legends Team: Bob Horner (1976-78), Sal Bando (1964-65), Barry Bonds (1983-84) and Eddie Bane (1972-73).
