The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will dedicate the new Tucson temple with a cultural celebration Saturday, Aug. 12 and the placement of a cornerstone Sunday, Aug. 13.
More than 112,000 people visited the temple during its June open house, according to press materials. The temple is no longer open to the general public.
The church will live stream the cultural celebration — a pageant showcasing Tucson history with about 2,100 teens participating — from Kino Sports Park to Mormon meetinghouses 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12. There are no available seats left in the sports park.
To catch the live stream, arrive by 6:30 p.m. to one of the following meetinghouses: Rincon Stake, 1655 S. Melpomene Way; Tucson Stake, 105 N. Norton Ave.; Tucson East Stake, 6901 E. Kenyon Drive; Tucson North Stake, 939 W. Chapala Drive; Tucson West Stake, 3530 W. Magee Road; Tucson South Stake, 7001 E. 21st St.; Marana Stake, 13450 N. Lon Adams Road in Marana; Sahuarita Stake, 16275 S. Starlight View Lane in Sahuarita and Sierra Vista Stake, 2100 E. Yaqui St. in Sierra Vista.
The dedication the following day will be closed to the public.
