The Jewish History Museum, 564 S. Stone Ave., is hosting a new exhibition on crypto-Jews from New Mexico.
The exhibit "Fluid Identities: New Mexican Crypto-Jews in the Late 20th Century" from the New Mexico History Museum includes photos and objects to tell the story of Jews who held on to their faith privately but professed another publicly.
The museum will use this exhibit as a template to cultivate a similar one with a Southern Arizona focus. Anyone with crypto-Jewish histories in Southern Arizona should contact the museum if there is an interest to share those stories, according to press materials.
Visit the exhibit until Wednesday, May 31 1 to 5 p.m. Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays and noon to 3 p.m. Fridays. The museum is closed Monday and Tuesday.
Museum executive director Bryan Davis was also recently installed to the board of directors for the national Council of American Jewish Museums.
