Temple Emanu-El, 225 N. Country Club Road, will light the giant menorah outside the temple 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12 for Hanukkah.
The candle lighting ceremony for the menorah will begin each day at 5:30 p.m. through Tuesday, Dec. 19, except on Sunday, Dec. 17, when the menorah will be lit at 4:30 p.m. before The Greatest Hanukkah on Earth! XIX We Are the Light, according to press materials. Hanukkah this year begins the evening of Tuesday, Dec. 12 and ends the evening of Wednesday, Dec. 20.
The Hanukkah celebration Sunday begins with blessings, songs and the menorah and continues with music, drama and dance. At the end, everyone lights a personal menorah. The program is free but is followed by a dinner including brisket and latkes that costs $30 for members, $35 for non-members and $9 for kids 4 to 12. Kids younger are free. Non-members will pay a bit more. Prepaid reservations are required.
