Kids measure saguaros at the Junior Rangers summer program at Saguaro National Park East.Β

If your kids are interested in nature and the outdoors and are between the ages of 6 and 11, they can try their hand at being a junior ranger.

The Junior Ranger Summer Camp at Saguaro National Park East gives children the chance to explore nature and desert plants and animals in indoor and outdoor settings.

For first-time campers, there are two three-day sessions to choose from β€” June 6-8 and June 13-15. Campers returning from last year can attend graduate camp June 20-22.

Each session takes place from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and costs $30.

The park is at 3693 S. Old Spanish Trail. For more information, call 733-5153.

This is just one of many summer programs offered to kids in Tucson in a variety of subjects, from arts to science to sports.

If you’re with an organization that will host a summer camp, it’s time to enter your info in the Star’s summer program list.

See the adjacent info box for a step-by-step guide on how to list your program β€” and how to search for others β€” in our online database and calendar.
