Name: Mark Arneson
Years at UA: 1969-71
Accomplishments: In 1971, Arneson was a co-captain of the team — the Wildcats went 5-6 — and a first-team All-American selection. He was also a two-time first-team All-WAC selection (1970, 1971). He was part of the first-ever Arizona Sports Hall of Fame induction class in 1976.
Arneson ranks in the top 10 in UA history in the following categories:
• Career total tackles: 10th, 357 total tackles
• Career assisted tackles: 8th, 171 assisted tackles
Arneson also led the Wildcats in the following defensive categories for these seasons:
• Unassisted tackles: 110 unassisted tackles (1970)
• Assisted tackles: 76 assisted tackles (1969); 45 assisted tackles (1970)
