Swimming is a favorite sport with all the family. The Landeens' 8-year-old son, Jonathan, swims for the Tucson Country Club. The other children are Chris, who is a year old; Cindy, 6; and Stephanie, 2.

Motorists driving along Ft. Lowell road admire the bamboo that shields the adobe house from the road. It is so dense that passers-by can hardly see the house. A drive winds from the road to the main house and guest quarters.

The copper shield above the large fireplace is hand-made. Ceilings in the living room are 12 feet high.

Two lamps flank the tweed sofa in the living room. They are pine urns with brown tortoise shell shades. The room is so large that the furniture had to be arranged in two groupings.

This is the ramada where the family and friends gather for informal parties near the pool. Originally, the ramada was built as an orchestra stand.

Gauze curtains in the bedroom are soft grayed-olive, as are the walls. Note the interesting detail below the mantle. This room formerly was a small bedroom and a sitting room.

During the winter time, greenery at the door is replaced with gay coral-colored geraniums. Floor in the entrance way is translucent marble vinyl.
