McMahan to oversee
Rural/Metro operations

Rural/Metro Southern Arizona Operations announced the promotion of Jonathan McMahan to regional director/fire chief for Southern and Western Arizona.

He will provide direction and oversight of fire and ambulance operations in the Tucson and Yuma markets.

McMahan has more than 23 years’ experience in fire and emergency services, having spent the last 11 years in the ranks of Rural/Metro.

Currently designated as chief fire officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence, McMahan is also in the process of completing the Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy in Maryland.

He holds two bachelor of science degrees as well as two master’s of science degrees, all in the public safety field. He is near completion of his doctor of education in organizational leadership through Grand Canyon University, Rural/Metro said in a news release.

JCC hires Frank, Moke
to revamp fitness programs

The Tucson Jewish Community Center hired Susan Frank as health and wellness director and Ben Moke as the director of sports and recreation.

Both will jointly manage the Sports & Wellness Department. “As the JCC prepares for major renovations this spring, including a completely remodeled fitness facility, Susan and Ben will be charged with reinvigorating programs, leagues, and classes,” the JCC said in a news release.

Frank most recently owned and operated O2 Modern Fitness in fitness classes to teens, trained fitness instructors on the Tohono O’odham Nation, co-directed a local cycling team and created an annual National-Class Pro Bike Race, the Old Pueblo Grand Prix.

Moke grew up attending his local JCC in Denver. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in elementary education and brings over 10 years of direct JCC experience to Tucson.

Holmes is new partner
at first-aid service CPR2U

Bill Holmes joined CPR2U as managing partner. He will work with founder and co-managing partner William Spurbeck overseeing marketing, sales and new business development.

Holmes was most recently the chief operating officer for the Tucson Chamber of Commerce, and previously served as vice president/community relations manager for Wells Fargo.

CPR2U also announced it recently was awarded the American Heart Association’s Certified Training Center credential.

Truly Nolen’s Womack
now district sales trainer

Harrison Womack is the new district sales trainer for Tucson-based Truly Nolen of America.

After working in business-to-business sales for five years, Womack became the top commercial salesperson in the district covering Phoenix, Tucson, East Valley and San Diego, Truly Nolen said in a news release.

He holds a degree in sales and sales management from Western Governors University online.

Womack will now lead the development and training for new and current commercial sales inspectors in his district.

Pathways Financial promotes planner Cox

Layton Cox was named director of retirement plan consulting at Pathways Financial Partners.

Cox started as an analyst with Pathways in 2012, creating financial models and investment metrics.

Cox graduated from the Eller College of Management at the University of Arizona with a bachelor’s of science in accounting.

During his collegiate career, Cox founded Theta Chi Fraternity at University of Arizona and secured chapter housing on the corner of East Sixth Street and North Campbell Avenue.

He served as Interfraternity Council president and was Greek Man of the Year as a senior.

Cox is a member of the Tucson Young Professionals, Theta Chi Alumni Board and Oracle Board at the UA.

Attorney Zanes names
Sainz executive assistant

Zanes Law, an injury firm with offices in Tucson and Phoenix, promoted Andrew Sainz to executive assistant to Doug Zanes, the practice’s responsible attorney.

A Tucson native and Santa Rita High School graduate, Sainz began his career at Zanes Law in January 2008, and worked his way up as intake manager and settlement coordinator.

In his new role, Sainz is responsible for regular audits of cases to ensure company standards are being met, reviewing some day-to-day operations with Zanes and assisting Zanes with any duties required to ensure smooth operation of the practice.

S. Ariz. Farmers Insurance
appoints 2 new advisers

The Southern Arizona District Office of Farmers Insurance Group has appointed two new advisers to Tucson:

Guillermo Pena holds property/casualty and life/health insurance licenses. He worked in the pharmacy field for many years.

Bruce Anderson also holds property/casualty and life/health insurance licenses.

Both he and Pena have backgrounds in management and customer service, Farmers said in a news release.
