Steven Lynn joins Strongpoint Marketing
Steven W. Lynn, well-known in Southern Arizona for leading efforts such as passage of the Regional Transportation Association plan and the first successful redistricting effort in the state, has joined Strongpoint Marketing as chief strategy officer. He will work on special projects for the company, as well as play a role in its market research operations.
Lynn joins Strongpoint after retiring as vice president and chief customer officer of UNS Energy Corp. and Tucson Electric Power. He also served on loan from TEP as the interim president of Tucson Regional Economic Opportunities. He previously was a partner in Nordensson Lynn Advertising and PR, and worked for the city of Tucson as assistant director of the Human and Community Development Department.
He served as chairman of the Independent Redistricting Commission from 2001 to 2011, is a former chair of the University of Arizona Health Network Board, and serves on the board of Banner Healthcare. He has been chairman of the Arizona Early Childhood Development and Health Board (First Things First), the UA College of Social and Behavioral Sciences Advisory Board, the Downtown Tucson Partnership, and Southern Arizona Leadership Council board and was a founding board member of Science Foundation Arizona.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, Lynn holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and a master’s in communications. He also received a doctor of letters degree (Honoris Causa) in 2009 from the UA College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the College of Education. In 2007, he received the Distinguished Citizen Award from the UA Alumni Association and College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, was honored as Tucson’s Man of the Year by the Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce and received the Tucson Leader of the Year award from Greater Tucson Leadership.
