Diamond Children’s center adds faculty member

Dr. Jenny Mendelson and Dr. Alicia Palmer have joined the University of Arizona Department of Pediatrics and Banner Children’s-Diamond Children’s Medical Center as faculty.

Mendelson, an assistant professor, joined the Division of Critical Care. As a pediatric intensivist and pediatric emergency physician, she will take care of critically ill children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and the pediatric emergency department at Diamond Children’s.

She completed her medical degree and a combined residency in emergency medicine/pediatrics at the University of Arizona College of Medicine-Tucson. She then completed a fellowship in pediatric critical care medicine at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Her research interests are in the areas of pediatric cardiac arrest and post-resuscitation care, medical simulation and transport medicine. She is board certified in pediatrics and emergency medicine.
