Psychiatrist Moreno named VP of diversity
Dr. Francisco A. Moreno, professor of psychiatry at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson, was named assistant vice president for diversity and inclusion at the Arizona Health Sciences Center.
Moreno will work with other diversity leaders at the UA Colleges of Nursing, Public Health, Pharmacy and the College of Medicine in Phoenix βto create a comprehensive network of diversity-and-inclusion initiatives, meaningful diversity-and-inclusion programs and strategies to improve the diversity of the health-care workforce statewide,β UA officials said in a news release.
He will also continue to oversee the UA College of Medicineβs Tucson Office of Diversity and Inclusion, and the Arizona Hispanic Center of Excellence.
