Early skiing in Flagstaff

A pair of snowboarders chat on the Hart Prairie chairlift on opening day at the Arizona Snowbowl. Some 1,400 people showed up, compared to about 800 for the first day last year.

FLAGSTAFF — Arizona Snowbowl operators are again postponing opening because of a lack of snow.

The resort announced Wednesday that continued warm temperatures have made it difficult to produce enough snow to open this week.

The popular tourist attraction near Flagstaff had projected an opening day of this Friday after having to delay last week.

Snowbowl opened Nov. 19 last year and didn't close until May 7, which the company says is the longest season on record.
