As part of the process of updating its general plan, Oro Valley surveyed its residentsabout what they think about the town's future.
FMR Associates conducted the stastically valid phone survey, conducted with a sample based on 2010 Census data.
Residents named the town's safety, nautral beauty and feeling of community as its top qualities, while knocking its inconvenient, decentralized location, which places is far from the freeway and airport.
Those surveyed said the town could use more jobs, shopping, events, parks and education choices. They also cited a need to reduce Traffic congestion on North Oracle Road, manage land development, maintain a low crime rate and manage town growth.
“The results of this survey confirmed many of our long-standing values in the community,” said Town Councilman Joe Hornat, in a news release. “However, they also pointed to some interesting shifts in what residents view as priorities.”
