Visitors wandered toward the open nose of a Lockheed C-5A Galaxy during the air show at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base on March 19, 1978. For more than 50 years, the base has hosted an open house, formerly known as Aerospace and Arizona Days. It’s now Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona. Gates open at 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.
