Toby Van Skike, far right, leads a prayer with Jenny Beals, far left, and Sue Pennington, second from right, for Fran Cappadocia, at the end of his visit with Cappadocia at the Arizona State Veteran Home, 3601 South 6th Avenue. Van Skike was wounded on April 26, 1968 while serving in the Vietnam War, Cappadocia was his nurse. After returning to the United States, Van Skike never forgot the nurse who cared for him. Four months ago, Van Skike found Cappadocia and visited her for the first time. Van Skike lives in Benson, but drives to Tucson to visit Cappadocia every couple of weeks. Cappadocia has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's and severe post traumatic stress disorder. Wednesday May 06, 2015

Fae Starling stokes the fire while living at Camp Bravo for Veterans on Patrol near Santa Rita Park in Tucson, Ariz. Starling says she has lived with Veterans on Patrol for a few months and is studying to earn her GED. VOP was created by a group of veterans to help homeless people, particularly homeless veterans and women and children. Thursday November 19, 2015.

"We used to decorate the windows in a minimalist way" says Margo Susco, co-owner of Hydra with her brother, Joe. "People thought we were a museum," she says. Three years ago Joe took over the decorating of the front windows and came up with elaborate scenes. "He really taken them to the next level," she says. Wednesday September 23, 2015

In the early morning sun as a light rain falls, a waste picker sifts through trash at el Tirabichi, a dump in Nogales, Sonora. The dump opened 20 years ago as a transfer station. The Mexican government wants to close the dump and move the workers to a landfill to do their scavenging. Over the years, people have built small makeshift homes out of discarded items at the dump. Many of those people lost their homes to a fire on March 12. Saturday May 02, 2015

Jeff Kelly says he's been living at Camp Bravo near Santa Rita Park in Tucson, Ariz. for a week. Anyone who comes to Camp Bravo can stay for 72 hours, after that if they want to stay longer then they need to volunteer to help maintain the area. Veterans on Patrol started the camp. A group of veterans created VOP to help homeless people, particularly homeless veterans and women and children. Thursday November 19, 2015
