The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating two separate fatal collisions that occurred on I-10 Thursday, authorities said.
Andres Montano, 35, of Tucson, was killed when his pickup truck was struck from behind on westbound I-10 near the Alvernon Way exit.
Montano, who wasn't wearing his seatbelt, was ejected and died at the scene from his injuries, said department spokesman Quentin Mehr.
The driver of the vehicle that hit Montano was not injured. The investigation is ongoing, but impairment isn't believed to be a factor, Mehr said.
Several hours later, shortly after 10 p.m., a pickup truck traveling eastbound on I-10 near Bowie lost control of the vehicle and ran off the road.
The driver, 24-year-old Melvin Hewitt, II, wasn't wearing his seat belt and was ejected from the truck when it rolled over. Hewitt died at the scene, Mehr said.
No other vehicles were involved.
