Firefighters discovered a body in what was thought to be a vacant mobile home on Tucson's south side Sunday morning.
The discovery was made around 6 a.m., after police responded to a 911 call from a resident in a mobile home park on the 5300 block of South Park Avenue who said one of the trailers was on fire.
Crews arrived to find a double-wide mobile home heavily engulfed in flames, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a Tucson Fire spokesman, in a news release.
An energized power line fell in between the home on fire and another residence, making it difficult for crew members to fight the blaze as it traveled north to another mobile home.
An additional crew was called in to extinguish the second home fire, Baker said.
Once firefighters got inside the first home to search for hot spots, two crew members discovered a body.
Fire investigators called detectives from the Tucson Police Department to help determine the cause of death and origin of the fire.
