July 1 is the day to celebrate several aspects of the U.S. Postal Service.

It is National Postal Worker Day, a day to thank your mail carrier. It is also National U.S. Postage Stamp Day and Zip Code Day. We aren't sure how one should celebrate a zip code, perhaps a block party?

Other quirky observances for July 1 include:

  • National creative ice cream flavors day
  • National gingersnap day
  • Hop a Park day
  • International Reggae day
  • International joke day
  • Canada Day
  • Second half of the year day

That last one might be a bit obvious.

Pick a reason and celebrate. We're partial to any reason involving ice cream.
